PLTO’s fleet will consist of 26 five-car trainsets (130 cars). For PLTO (USA), a Wayside Wheel Profile Monitoring (WPM) system is going to be installed to automatically measure key wheelset parameters, including wheel profile geometry, flange height, flange width, qR value, wheel diameter, and axle dimensions such as the back-to-back distance between wheels.
The fleet also features LeadMind, CAF’s digital platform for optimising fleet operation and maintenance.

Under CAF’s Full Service maintenance model, wheel condition monitoring and digital fleet management work together to reduce lifecycle costs, improve fleet reliability and maximise availability.
