For TTC (Canada), two Wayside Wheel Defect Detection (WDD) systems have been installed to automatically monitor and detect wheel tread defects and other wheel irregularities. These systems enable continuous wayside inspection of wheel condition, supporting early identification of wheel defects and helping to improve fleet safety, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
