The Canberra light rail line runs along a 12 kilometre route between Gungahlin and the city centre, stopping at 14 stations en route. This line has played a key role in improving urban mobility and connecting important areas of the Australian capital.

The fleet features LeadMind, CAF’s digital platform for optimising fleet operation and maintenance.

Supported through a Full Service maintenance contract, CAF combines digital monitoring, maintenance expertise and operational support to ensure high fleet availability and reliable passenger service.

LeadMind is providing a great improvement, accelerating diagnostics times and increasing fleet availability and reliability.

“The rolling stock utilised is the CAF´s Urbos, with alignment wide connectivity using track to train Wi-Fi systems. The track to train connectivity allows use of real‑time diagnostic tools through LeadMind and other platforms (TVisor), allowing operators and maintainers to provide the safest and most reliable system possible for
the network.

The LeadMind system allows for diagnosis, analysis, as well as data recording to inform
current and planned future maintenance activities for the benefi t of the travelling public.
Since its introduction, Canberra Light Rail has enjoyed the use of the realtime
system and data logging to the benefi t of all.”
